1. Acceptance of terms
By installing, accessing or using Cronos Wallet, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the wallet and related services.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the team developing and maintaining Cronos Wallet (“we”, “us”, “our”). They apply in addition to any open-source licenses governing the underlying software components.
2. Scope of the service
Cronos Wallet provides:
- local generation and storage of cryptographic key pairs,
- tools to sign and broadcast transactions,
- an interface to view balances, history and network state,
- optional integrations with third-party dApps, RPC providers and bridges.
Cronos Wallet is not a financial advisor and does not provide investment, tax, regulatory or legal advice. All on-chain actions are performed at your own discretion and risk.
3. Eligibility
- You must be legally capable of entering into binding agreements in your jurisdiction.
- You may not use the wallet if you are subject to sanctions or restrictions applicable to blockchain software.
- You are responsible for ensuring that using Cronos Wallet complies with local laws.
4. Non-custodial operation & user responsibility
Your seed phrase and private keys are generated and stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for:
- securely backing up and storing your seed phrase,
- maintaining the security of your device and operating system,
- verifying all transaction details before signing,
- ensuring you can restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged.
If your seed phrase is lost, stolen or exposed, your assets may become permanently inaccessible. We cannot help recover them.
5. Risks of blockchain networks
By using Cronos Wallet, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with decentralised networks and smart contracts, such as:
- market volatility of digital assets,
- smart contract vulnerabilities or unexpected behaviour,
- network congestion, failed transactions or unstable RPC endpoints,
- phishing, malicious contracts and other security threats.
You should review dApps and contracts independently before interacting with them. Only transact what you can afford to lose.
6. Prohibited behaviour
You agree not to use Cronos Wallet to:
- violate applicable laws, regulations or third-party rights,
- engage in fraud, money laundering or other illegal activity,
- disrupt, damage or interfere with the wallet or related infrastructure,
- attempt to extract data from other users without permission.
7. Updates and modifications
We may update Cronos Wallet to add features, address security issues or improve stability. Updates may be delivered automatically or require manual installation from official distribution pages such as the Downloads section.
Certain features may be modified or discontinued for technical, legal or product reasons. Significant changes will typically be communicated via release notes or official announcements.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Cronos Wallet is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- loss of funds caused by incorrect use or loss of your seed phrase,
- smart contract exploits, blockchain failures or third-party outages,
- indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages of any kind.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the primary jurisdiction in which the Cronos Wallet project is administered. Local consumer protections may apply regardless of this choice of law.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms periodically. Material updates will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and may be communicated through the app or other official channels.
Continuing to use Cronos Wallet after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance.
